I See You…Abeke…

For those who want answers...Ajadi has spoken...

I see you Abeke mi
Abeke ade, my love
The tears you shed the day I left for war broke my heart
The tears you have shed since then destroyed me
I know you waited…I saw it all
I see your pain
I see you through the glow from my mother’s ring
Abeke mi…you have mourned for too long
It is time to smile again
Did I mention how much I missed your dazzling smile?
It kept me going on days the war was tough
It probably also distracted me the day the poisonous arrow of the enemy hit me
Yet, it consoles me as I boldly stare at death
I died a hero’s death…like an Ajadi would
Abeke, the thought of you was my last
My last prayer was that you find love again
I’m sorry I didn’t return as promised
Abeke, I tried…
But it seemed my father’s sword had limited luck
And I ran out of it.
Alao is a good man
Open up your heart to him
I will watch over you
I see you Abeke ade, omo fi gbogbo ojo dara bi egbin

Always…

  5. This is great stuff...okay lover boy Ajadi's been confirmed dead; i'm sad to hear that...
I envy Abeke's good fortune about 'hearing' (albeit metaphysically?) from her late lover with respect to his demise and, more importantly, his blessings that she moves on - at least you saved us the horror (?) of some spiritual husband thingy...lol. pretty sure many other Abekes will do better to have a lover-boy/man like our truly brave Ajadi here...
I'm pleased to hear of this good conclusion - although, tragic...and in another fine poetic form! Mesmerizing lines, too!
more grease to your elbow, Taiwo!
